Pumping out that much SPL into even a large HT room will be an excruciating experience. You are right about the headroom for less efficient speakers though and you will likely never need another amp. Listening at 12 db SPL ABOVE reference should be a once in a lifetime experience. Let us know how it sounds. Awesome, isn't it? Lmao! It may be a once in a lifetime thing because you may not hear much ever again after that lol. I want people to be afraid of touching my volume knob. I know I more then likely won't ever need that power, but just knowing I have all that power on reserve makes me feel good, and will certainly never have to worry about any material pushing my equipment too hard. Honestly, I think this set-up would be able to power some professional movie theaters like clear view cinema's I've been to recently.

I've got a 770 in a pretty good sized room running hungry speakers and I've never heard anything approaching distortion. If you ever need more amp than this, please tell us why. I can't imagine the circumstances.

I run my 7500 to a set of Magnepn QR 1.6 and sone Advents and they can really rock the house. Much higher SPL and permanent damage is going to occur either to my hearing or my marriage.

Its not so much that I would need that much power in this particular situation. I just want the flexibility if I ever move to a larger theater room, if I ever get/use inefficient speakers, I would likely never have to upgrade this amp.

True enougth but there are limited places where you can set that amp down. One good thing is it is unlikely to be stolen.

Luckily, the room I am building will have 2 dedicated circuits especially for this amp. Just simply because I can would be reason enough, but my other reasons are the more practical reasons lol.

I would spec the receptacles at 20 amps if you still can. It gives you another place to plug in some low powered stuff if you need to. Also if you are going to use any type of protection gear in front of the amp it will draw some power.

Also if you are going to use any type of protection gear in front of the amp it will draw some power. At this point, I can still do whatever I want. I was gonna put 3 dedicated lines by my rack, 2 for the amp, 1 for everything else, but I can do 2 20 amp circuits also. Hell, I can put 3 20 amp circuits there if I wanted to. The beauty of it is I got a ton of space in my electric box, and the box is in the same room, so the wire runs are very short and simple.

With tv screens getting huge and subwoofers firing at dynamic power I would go for a 3rd 20amp circuit if you can do it right now.

I can get up to 8 separate circuits in this room if I wanted to. I'll get 4 20 amp circuits, and 2 15 amp circuits. 2 for the amp, 1 for all the other components, including projector, and one for random outlets in the room. The lights will have their own dedicated circuit, and there's gonna be a concession stand in the corner of the room, so I want a dedicated line there. I want a frozen yogurt machine lmao
