Or we could use the web to unilaterally boycott ALL big label companies based in the US to flush out the guilty party.

Our battle cry could be: No one gets our money until someone comes clean on the 978.

It’s like you know one of your kids broke the lamp so you punish them all until someone cracks…

I’m having problems believing I just wrote that we should boycott US companies, however as long as people tolerate unethical behavior the longer it will go on.

Finally it is my hope that Outlaw learns from this episode and is able to move forward with a different development model that will make it more likely that they can quickly get quality products to market at an attractive value point...

1. Yes, agree it's an ethical question. Very difficult to make a company move based on ethical arguments.

2. Boycott. Why not? Sure it's unlikely to change anything. But we're potentially boycoting on moral grounds because it's the "right" thing to do. My personal story is that I have not bought anything from Samsung in over 8 years becasue they majorly screwed me over on one of my work projects. I'm sure Samsung is feeling THAT impact to their bottom line. No? I still feel good about it anyways and will keep my personal boycott in place.

3. Release the 978 prints? Probably not if they aren't released already.

EEman, I agree with you except the thing about boycotting ALL big label companies. Come on, that would make us look foolish. I want to know the name of the UNETHICAL company, and I think that not just us Outlaw customers, but almost all audio customers on the 'net, would join in and inundate the unethical company with emails. I would have no problem contacting that company's Sales and Marketing VP. I really believe such a campaign would result in:
best: Outlaw's partner allowed to continue final development and production
acceptable: Outlaw's partner told by unethical company to release all design files to Outlaw, so that Outlaw could give them to its new, or another partner.

How would they know we are boycotting them? Would we just occupy their websites all at once and claim to be the 99% who can't hear the difference between MP3 and CD and vinyl. Since there are no real US companys that build equipment and we are mostly US citizens who are about 5% of the worlds population we could actually be in the 1% and not know it on the WORLD wide web. If Outlaw has been in development for a year on an entry level processor and we don't have pictures and specs, that should tell us something.

If I knew which company got their greasy hands in this I wouldn't buy any of their products. I sure hope it isn't Microsoft or Apple or I'll have to eat my words.
