I will be posting again here when the Oppo 93 is released so I can get your help Gonk in hooking it up to my 990 but in the meantime I plan on giving my Samsung BD-C6900
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/BD-C6900/XAA to my son so I have some questions.
He doesn't have a surround receiver or A/V processor but rather the Outlaw RR2150 used with pretty good speakers (about $1500), oppo BDP-80, 50" Plasma in a 2-channel system. It's used in a smaller room and actually sounds really good whether it be playing cds or dvds all audio is ran through the 2150 so it is all analog.
Since the 2150 doesn't include digital inputs (HDMI/Optical) would you still be able to take advantage of the higher quality analog 7.1 True HD outputs of the Samsung BD by connecting only the front R/L outputs to stereo inputs of the 2150? Or would you need to use the regular analog R/L stereo outputs of the Samsung BD?
I'm trying to get an idea if it's possible you could gain any better audio quality with a BD player hooked up to the Outlaw 2150 compared to a dvd player (his BDP-80)?
