I used the same work-around, Palmer.

FWIW, I've got the SMS-1 stacked into my DVD input on my display. Though the SMS-1 is assigned to that input via composite, it gives priority to HDMI when it receives a signal.

And, thank goodness, I have not experienced any crosstalk or bleed-through issues!
