To Gonk's point, Behringer (a big pro audio manufacturer) makes a 2-channel amp that's actually supposed to be pretty decent sounding. It's the A500 and is 230 watts into 4ohms and can be bridged, uping the power potential to 500WPC mono / 4ohms. They can be had online for about $160 if you look around.
This amp is supposed to be something of a bridge between a pro audio amp and an audiophile amp. For surround sound applications, I think it offers a pretty good solution. But if it were an amp for my mains, I'm not sure it would be on the top of my list.
