Especially since upgrading my Anthony Gallo Nucleus Micro system to A'Diva Ti's for the front pair, it does seem a bit dark. I took some measurements with an RTA and they show that the high end drops off a bit. Could be the speakers, but it could be the 1070 also.
This week is spring break for the University I work for, so I may try pulling my Crown DC300 out of my studio and put it with the Gallos to see what they are like then. Unfortunately I don't have the RTA any longer, so I won't be able to take measurements.
I played around a bit while I had the RTA, and setting the treble on the 1070 to +6 got me pretty darn close to flat, however it sounds a bit harsh due to the phase problems associated with doing that extreme of EQ, so I went ahead and set it back to 0.
If I get a chance to move some stuff around I'll let you know what I find out.
BTW, the imaging with the Gallos and the 1070 is astounding. On well recorded material you can close your eyes and it seems like you can reach out and touch the musicians. It can be almost frightening.
