Twice in the past couple of weeks my 1070 has turned on making strange noises. The first time it was loud and like I had a loose connection in my aux input (no I don't). Last night I turned it on and put needle to record and got a very peculiar buzzing noise along with some weak music. Very strange. In both cases simply turning the Outlaw off and on corrected the problem.
I'm coming to the conclusion that the 1070 must be like having a spouse who is a porn star. Great performance but lots of quirks. I'm beginning to think a simple Asian built tube preamp with no 'brains' will be my final choice for making music. So far the 1070 is more enjoyable than annoying but I'm really starting to wonder if software based systems are the way to go. And this is from a guy who built his own computer in 1976...
