Thanks, Greg - that's more or less what I expected.

It won't be easy to run directly from the BD player to the projector since I don't have an HDMI cable that long (and don't really want to move either component). I'll probably just get by with component video connections until I upgrade to a 1080p projector, which hopefully will present the digital input correctly.
