I never realized it until psklenar mentioned it in this thread, but it turns out that the 1050 can apply the 6.1 surround decoding to the 5.1 analog input (just dug into the manual a bit, page 28). Very interesting. That means that 6.1 Surround will work for Dolby Digital audio decoded by the 1050 (digital connection, optical or coaxial) and for any 5.1 analog input (Dolby Digital, DTS, DVD-Audio, or multi-channel SACD).
