I got problem with the center channel....the dialog is not clear and not open up. The center channel open up and clear when I switch back to coaxial or toslink digital input (instead of 7.1 analoy input) fron S-550. Didn't you notice it?

Sorry but I've noticed no such problems. Dialogue is fine. Is there a particular movie you are finding this on?

I occasionally turn the gain up on my sub but that is because of personal preference.

The speaker settings on the 990 were calibrated with the test tones and a Radio Shack analog SPL meter. They would be different for every environment.

I would check the connections and make sure everything is solid and tight.

I just thought of something that is very important. On the S550 make sure you have the default setting under "Audio Output" at Multi Channel analog. Otherwise you will not be getting the multi-channel output from the player.
