I have a spare dvd player that I am hooking up to my 990 via 7.1 direct in. I am only hooking up the l and r and sub out to the 990 l and r and sub in and I am not getting output from my sub. when I hook it up to a regaular analog input such as aux only using the l and r I am getting the sub to work and I assume this is being done from the bass mgmt circuits of the 990. the sacd I am listening to is a stereo sacd and the dvd player is capable of 2 channel only sacd,could it just be the recording?

hi evan, some cd/dvd players you have to go into the setup menu to turn on the multi channel outputs, maybe that might be the problem. Good luck.
