Hmmm... I was thinking that the record outputs get a downmixed stereo signal from digital inputs (because of some headphone amp discussion the other day), but I could be wrong about that. If I am, that would explain your problem, and two solutions would be to run analog audio cables from your sources to the 990 or to stay with the pre-amp outputs and crank either the 990 or the TV's volume up pretty much all the way. I might try the latter and push the TV's volume all the way up, assuming you only use the TV's speakers with the 990's input. (If you also used the TV's on-board tuner or some other source of audio, changing over to that from the 990's connection could do bad things to your TV's speakers and your ears.)

I'd definitely recommend that anyone setting up an Outlaw receiver or processor take some time to read through the manual. It is not your typical hard-to-decipher manual and has some very good information in it.
