Hello everyone,

Quick question regarding the IR inputs behind the 990.

I'm running Zone 2 on my JVC RX7000V - which is also in my home theater room. It drives my outdoor speakers. I connected my IR adapters (the outside one is connected to the 990's input - the other is in my home theater room connected to the 990's output pointed towards the front of the 990). When I'm outside and point the Zone 2 remote towards the IR adapter and try to control the volume or inputs, nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone out there ever tried this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

The Model 990's rear IR input requires an interface module - you can't plug a separate IR receiver into it and have it work. For the Xantech system that I use, it requires a 794-10 interface module. My old HD cable box was the same way. I took the cheap way out and stuck IR emitters onto the front of both components.
