what are the advantages and disadvantages of using the ICBM with the 990?

Benefits of ICBM:
- Allows for bass management with fully analog signal path for multichannel analog sources such as DVD-Audio, SACD, or HD-DVD/Blu-ray.

Drawbacks of ICBM:
- Mono surround back channel means Pro Logic IIx's discrete left/right back surrounds cannot be used; must stick with a mono signal to both surround back channels.
- Time delay for channels must be disabled or will be performed before the analog bass management, which is not really ideal.

Equal either way:
- Both provide four separate adjustable crossovers.

I guess at the end of it all, I don't see a compelling reason to pair the two up - the 990 will do the job on its own just fine.

When I purchased my 990, I sold my ICBM and have not missed it at all!
