I too looked at the Anthem AVM30 for its features and found the 990 had most of them. I didn't do a side-by-side comparison except for price: $1100 vs. $3000 along with some comparisons on various forums was enough to convince me. As I said, I have been very happy with the 990 and all its appropriate features.
