I'll raise my hand for this one (and there are others, many of whom were among the first wave of 990's shipped last year). My review gives a detailed summary, but the capsule summary is that the 990 provides some extra surround modes, more robust bass management, better DACs, and a sound quality that I'd describe as more transparent - it's a nice upgrade.
