Oh, definitely no offense - as crazy as things have been around here, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to look at one of my own posts and wonder what I meant.

ok, with a little help from my brother I finally got the update loaded and the one update got me up to 3.11.

I just pulled my 990/7700 combo out the box, started playing with the million configuration options and remembered, there's a substantial upgrade out there I need to install...duh!!! After reading all the wo's of installing the firmware, is there anyone who can give me a warm and fuzzy on installing it? Has anyone out had a one time success installing the 990 firmware update? Help me please. I'm scared to death to start.

EJ, if you press the menu button on the front of the unit or on the remote, does it do anything? I just received my 990/7700 and I can not access any of the menu options. I'm trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my 990. Thanks for your help.

Oh yeah, as far as the update goes, just FOLLOW the directions exactly, it is a piece of cake.

When I press the Menu button; on the remote/front panel, it goes into the Menu Setup where you can adjust all the devices. Is that what its suppose to do?

Yep, that's what it's supposed to do.

This doesn't mean I don't have to install the update does it??

You'll still want to install the update to get version 3.11 on there.
