Thanks for the very thorough explanation. I have printed out your suggestions and will certainly try them. The xbox shouldn't be a problem cause I have the component adapter so the HD component cable could go on Video 1 or 2 and also the xbox via component. I could have the Toshlink (optical for the xbox) and use the coaxial for the other two. I will be losing one component hookup since my Sony has two inputs but who cares since I will only be watching analog broadcasts (mostly).....another option I just thought of is to use the DVI connection on the 990 but that will be costly to get two more cables (1 DVI and another DVI to HDMI cable)

My TV has 2 component and 1 S video inputs....I guess I wasn't thinking....now that you spelled it out this shouldn't be too hard to pull off!!

It all hinges on the S video still giving me the digital channels and the menu access from my Comcast HD box.

I love your suggestion on using the trigger to have the screen drop....awesome idea!!!
