Based on what we have seen, has it occurred to you that things haven't "stopped moving", but that they are probably sending the "convert your reservation to a real order" messages in batches every three or four days? If I were them, I'd do it that way since it seems logical that they want to be certain to keep things managed properly and allow orders to be processed error-free and have any credit card processing issues dealt with properly.
