I don't get it-- my 7100 amp runs SIGNIFICANTLY cooler than the 950, which gets guite warm.

I don't stack 'em , but wouldn't putting the warmer 950 on top of the 7100 be all right in this case? (Not that I'm planning on doing this--but it would look cool!
