The 950 does not decode HDCD. If your SD-9200 supports HDCD, then you can play back an HDCD compact disc through the Toshiba's analog outputs and be absolutely fine. If the 950 did support HDCD, you would not require HDCD support at the player (the 950 would be able to take the player's digital output and decode the HDCD material).

HDCD is a rare format that I don't have much experience with. As far as I know, only one of my 200+ CD's is HDCD-encoded.
