I think polonius hits on the biggest reason. It also goes in spells -- the last two eBay auctions ended between $390 and $416, but historically I've seen $400 as an upper limit used price for a new and lightly used 1050. The folks with 1050's made three years ago (no longer under warranty) may have a hard time getting that good a price.
