Could anyone please answer this for me.

As I have the 1050 as a possible unit to look at purchasing ( I made note about my thoughts on the " Is the 1050 outdated thread" ) but I have a question I would hope could be answered.

If one hooks a cd player up to the L and R inputs of the 5.1 direct section so that one could get a direct signal without DSP processing, if one wanted to record from that input onto a cassette tape or a stand alone CD recorder which itself would be hooked to the TAPE LOOP, would the signal from the direct 5.1 input feed its way to the tape loop section.

I hope my question makes sense and would appreciate an answer to it.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that will work. I had done that with my DVD-A player, into 6 channel direct, and out the tape out into my tube equipment. I had an existing connection from the DVD-A to the 6 channel on the Outlaw, since that is the only 6 channel gear in my house, and I also had the Outlaw connected to my tube pre-amp because the Outlaw DAC is better than the internal DVD player DAC for CDs. I just tried the two together.
