I've tried Neo:6, though not on the Outlaw 950. I can't say I'm a fan. I much prefer PL II.
Also, if I read correctly DTS discrete still cannot use any matrixing to extract center rear from 5.1 material? There is no CES listed in conjunction with the DTS modes....
You're right: Dolby digital allow you to extract the centre rear channel using either EX processing or CES processing; the 950 doesn't offer that sort of flexibility with DTS soundtracks. Still, you should be able to switch to the DTS-ES mode when listening to non-ES-encoded DTS soundtracks. This way, any common info in the two surround channels will be extracted, sent to the centre rear channel and output through your surround back speakers. Give it a try.
