thanks for that clarification, charlie... I'd say the biggest thing there would be the volume knob issue for me.

I'm a purist when it comes to video switching... nothing short of a dedicated switch box for me if I have to go beyond the functional direct inputs on the display device... wouldnt want to muddy up the video going through a reciever (I know that the quality effects may be negligble on most models, but it would always bug me if i had any video running through my reciever...essential video, anyway).

S-video is dead to me now actually... everything is either important enough to go component (PS2, Xbox, standalone DVD), or goes to my HTPC via composite video for scaling and deinterlacing, then on to my projector with DVI-D. The only S-video i used before was my VCR... can't remember the last time I watched a tape...heh.

Welp, those don't seem like big deals to me. Nothing that would sway me.
