The lack of DLP2 and things like that never bugged me much-- if something's not in full-on surround encoding, then I just leave it in 2-channel operation generally...
The main purpose will be for DVD, definately... but this will also be a 2-channel music work-horse for sure, as well as what I'll be using for gaming (I'm a big gaming nut).
Funny thing is that this has almost the exact same input/output configuration as my current reciever except that my current reciever is only 5.1 and doesnt have any multi-channel analog inputs or preouts. I'm thinking that the power of this thing will absolutely slaughter my "100x5" (yeah, right) reciever, and the inputs are just enough for me (even though i have to use an optical switch for my CD changer, XBox, and PS2... no big deal)... I'm thinking BECAUSE I don't need many inputs and really DONT care about the little gimmicky features that it lacks, then this is going to blow all the competition away as far as I'm conscerned.
Curious, though... I have pretty power-hungry main speakers... if I'm otherwise satisfied with the 1050 and have some extra cash in the summer I may want to catch a pair of M200s for that purpose... ahh the possibilities.
