Here's something crazy: I am planning to get a 2nd pre/pro of another brand to connect to my 7100. My 7100 is already connected to my 950 with the trigger jack.

Can I use a Radio Shack 3.5mm or 1/8" mono Y-adapter to hook to the trigger jack at the back of the 7100 so I can connect my 2nd pre/pro and the 950?

I hope I won't blow any fuse on the 7100 for this set up if I accidently turn on both pre/pros at the same time.

Thanks in advance.

I'm glad somebody else asked it. I was thinking it, but I thought maybe I just wasn't in the know or something.

I was thinking of using the 950 for movies, and the 2nd pre/pro (which is said to be better for music) for SACD, DVD-A and CD. I was thinking of connecting the pre out cables with three Radio Shack 2-in-1-out switches, too.

if a pre/pro was to be better for music, wouldnt that make it also better for the music in a movie?

speakers are where 99% of your sound is "made", so it seems like a waste of your time to have two pre/pros. i do have a thought, why dont you sell one and throw that cash at some better/more speakers. at the least a more comfortable chair/couch.
