Thanx Xyzfla. The pic was right where you said it was. That's actually a nice looking receiver.

Hoots,

The way I read it, it looked like it had pre outs where it could be used as a preamp and powered by your current amps. I believe it has the loop or pass through but I am not sure. As to your Dynaco's, don't hold your breath, they are nice sounding and this receiver may not beat them. I would be surprised if it did. Just my opinions.

Possibly a BETTER sounding unit than the 950?! By the way, I have to admit it does look pretty cool for "Retro".............

I would assume the goal is for it to sound better in 2-channel music mode than the 950 or 1050 as one of the big drawbacks to a pre/pro anywhere near $1k is the 2-channel sound....isn't that what the newsletter ment?

I guess I would like to see a product that mates with the 950 for 2-channel music...maybe a RR2150 w/950 and 5-channel OUtlaw amp? Maybe this isn't really the intent but many of us want to use the same room and front speakers.

Today I put the vintage volume at 2:00 for unty gain or swap cables between a vintage pre-amp and the Outlaw

Pat, OFCCM is right, a Music Hall or Pro-ject turntable and some mint old LP's will (re)introduce you to analog in a way you've never heard it before! I've just traded up to the midpriced Pro-ject perspective table and BPS cartridge, and the sound just kicks my CD player's butt bigtime (Denon player, outboard DAC and tube line stage). A trip to our local use record store netted me over two dozen mint LP's for under $100. And the freshly pressed LP's using HD vinyl and modern cutting technology sound unbelievably fantastic! This isn't your father's "record player!" Hopefully the new 2150 will enhance 2-chanel/analog sound even further as compared to that from the 950 or other HT preamp/processor. If anyone from Outlaw is listening, is it too late to request the inclusion of a high quality headphone out to complement the high quality phono stage already planned? Just wondering....

Tombstone, I like the call on the Headphones out. I would love to see that implemented.

Hello All!
I haven't posted in awhile due too the fact that I'm no longer running any Outlaw gear in my rig. Still using the cables though. I've been blessed in the fact that I now have the opportunity to buy a new house and I actually get a Study! I'll keep my main rig in the living room for HT, but the RR sounds great for 'my' room. I can't wait to hear it and all of my LP's that have been stored.
As Always,
Mix

I'm puzzled ! Why is the RR 2150 being marketed as a unit suitable for an office, study, vacation home or studio etc...? Will the unit NOT be good enough for a primary listening system?!

Negative much? Outlaw has so far focused on home theater, but one of the reason they are developing the RR2150 is because people have asked about stereo gear for areas where 5 speakers aren't an option (offices, etc.). Since it's still in development, it's impossible to say definitively how good it will sound, but I suspect it would go very well for a primary stereo system.
