From some of the posts here on the forum (such as this one ), it probably depends on the model being used. People have had success using a 1050 to drive MMG's (and judging from the specs at www.magnepan.com the MGMC1 and maybe the MG 12 as well), but higher-end models (probably starting at the MG 1.6) would apparently want more "oomph". The people who have posted that they are using 1.6's (such as HarleyD have been using 750's or other amps to drive them.
