Any time that you use the 6-channel analog outputs on your DVD player and the 6-channel direct input on your 1050, the ICBM will provide bass management. That means if you use the player's onboard Dolby Digital or DTS decoding or if you play a CD (assuming that you are using the left and right channels of the six-channel analog output, and not the separate stereo analog output that some players also include), you'll get that bass management.
