I saw a similar thread over at HTF that hadn't produced any results, either. Still unresolved? If so, maybe we can dig out a few more details. I'm under the impression that every six months or so this happens to your dad's 1050. How do you resolve it typically? Wait it out? Turn stuff on/off? Mess with settings? I'm just wondering if there might be something there that could offer some hints. Also , are we only dealing with a DVD player as digital source, or does this also affect some other sources (CD, for example)?

By the way, there is a bug with some 6.1 soundtracks (see these two threads). It affected a number of 6.1-capable receivers, primarily Onkyo and Denon. It was resolved on the 1050 by the recommendation that all users enable their center surround speaker, even if there is not one installed.
