I like the look of Wire Duct found I the site you suggested. I have a very short length to protect so this may be doable.

I thought about tobasco or perhaps IcyHot since my dogs hate the smell of IcyHot. But it might eventually ware off and in the case of Tobasco I can't rule out that my dogs will find that even more appetizing.
