In past processor specs the XLR connectors had a 6db advantage vice the RCA connectors. I would steer away from mixing them since you want them all to be the same so the response form the volume control is consistent. If you go back into the 976 threads especially the earlier ones you will see that the low volume issue has been identified and is not a problem.
I am having an on going problem. When I switch channels to and from a standard HD channel to a 4K channel I'm receiving a sharp crackling noise. The noise is more of a popping noise that moves through all the speakers when switching from a 4K to a standard HD channel. I am currently being advised that this is upstream issue with DirecTV. If I patch to COAX this problem goes away. This problem only occurs when patched with HDMI. I have had DirecTv on site three times and both server and client boxes replaced three times. No Change.
X do you have anything that might help with a resolution? Thanks
