Nothing. You have MQA on the Node2. MQA is purely digital. On one side it compresses the digital signal and on the other side it decompresses the digital. All this happens before the DAC.

Hard to say. It depends on the quality of the DACS in the Node2. In general I'm in favor of keeping everything digital as long as possible so I'd go with coax/TOSLINK. Extra conversions tend to add noise. As always, what sounds best to you is right. Try them both and pick.

Not sure what you're asking here. Compressed MQA is 44.1 Khz 16 bits. From what I could find you can put this in a DAC directly (without decompression) and it will still work but with higher noise than decompressed.
