Why not try them and see if the 976 meets your needs. If it does you save $$$ on an amp.
I tried them, and unfortunately, it does not. Ended up with AKG K553 MKII Closed-back 32 ohm Studio Headphones...much greater sensitivity. Can't hook up a headphone amp anyway...due to no Line Level Outs on the 976 per Outlaw Support.
