I don't own a 2160 but I don't see any reason it would not work well with any DLNA computer with music or video files on it. When the manual speaks of a server it really is referring to a DLNA source which can connect to the 2160 via ethernet cable to stream files to the 2160. Almost any computer today is DLNA capable along with Android phones, disc players and many other devices. Except for Apple products, almost any source you might want to use will work, as long as it can be connected with an ethernet cable or broadcast to a DLNA capable PC or device. Basically your connection is the ethernet cable from a source with audio files on it. Once the 2160 is in receiver mode, the source will detect it and allow you to select it for streaming.
