Nice write-up, palmer. FYI, the 976 is in Harmony's database and I too had to "relearn" the 976's ON button with my Harmony 950. .
Lucky me received a harmony 950 from Santa !!
Coming from a 10 yr old Sony RM-AX4000, (which i loved but it is just way outdated and impossible to reprogram ) this is my first Harmony.
I have set it up and done nothing more at this point but check this 976 turn on issue. Happy to say Harmony must have fixed this already !!
