I'm in a similar boat with XenonMan. The 975 is fitting my needs currently but I'd like to see what the Phoenix has in store for my next upgrade. We're mulling over a future garage conversion that may eventually become a dedicated home theater room. If that pans out, I'll definitely toss in some overhead speakers for ATMOS or what have you. That's likely a few years out so I'm in no rush and there should be a definite indication whether or not that's even a good idea by then.
