Thanks very much for the clarification. I guess I generalize LFE being the sub output, but they are two different things as you say.

for the y-adapter trick, it really works... if you have low signal coming in on the single channel that plugs into the single sub rca jack on the sub, using the y-cable and plugging into the stereo inputs on the sub (if it has them) boosts the input level. It works for my velodyne, my polk and the SVS sub I am auditioning now. I realize it's splitting the signal into two thereby reducing the signal that goes to each leg of the y adapter but having signal coming in on both channels seems to boost the overall input level on the sub. My ears don't lie.. It works and that's all I can say. smile
