Wrong player, for one thing. For another, both players can output from all available outputs at all times.

That being said, you do bring up something that could be relating to the processor's behavior instead of the player: setting HDMI Audio off in the player might help resolve any issues the 886 has with accepting analog input when an active HDMI audio signal is present. This sort of potential trouble is one reason the BDP-83 manual suggested disabling an unused HDMI audio output in the first place.
