Glad you're happy Gene, but the term "expectation" comes to mind. Unless your mains were actually providing very poor power (which, honestly, it sounds like they might have been) it should make no difference with well engineered devices. If you were experiencing excessive voltage drops during high demand, that's a different issue, of course. But then, that's "very poor power", not merely "mundane power from the wall". The latter is what those gizmos we love so much are DESIGNED to use.
