Has anyone tried the 7075's with the Linkwitz Orions? They should be a good match since Seigfried recomends (and sells) the ATI distribution amp. There are a few differences, obviously 2 boxes with outlaw vs 1 with ATI - this should be a benefit to the outlaw - more flexibility to location and wiring, greater separation electrically and 2 transformers.
The frequency response, THD and IM distortion, damping, crosstalk and gain figures are all identical. The outlaw power band is 5-125k vs the ATI 5-100k, shouldn't cause any audible difference. The slew rate of the outlaw is 50v/microsecond compared to the ATI 30v/microsecond, a theoretical advantage to outlaw - again not likely anything audible. The input impedance on the ATI is listed at 28kohms vs 50kohms for the outlaw. I'm not sure what difference this will have, especially in the case of the Orion speakers where each amp chanel only drives an individual driver. Maybe someone here could comment. At $1835 for 12 channels of ATI 60 watts vs $1400 for 14 channels of outlaw 75 watts it certainly seems that the outlaw is the better bargain. For an even better bargain you could buy 2 B stock units for $1200.
It's odd that the outlaw isn't listed at the Linkwitz site under alternate amplifiers.
