If the SMS-1 is between your pre-pro and sub(s), with the idea that you'll run pre-pro based Audyssey or Trinnov EQ, and if your planned use of the SMS-1 is to fine tune the bass after the pre-pro EQ is complete, then it's likely best if the SMS-1 is 'reset' before running the pre-pro EQ. (see the middle of page 25 of the Outlaw's Guide to SMS-1) Of course if your very satisfied with the SMS-1 settings you previously made, you'll want to write them down before you reset the SMS-1, in case you need to return to those exact settings. (If the SMS-1 already has done some shaping of the response curve, then the pre-pro may try to 'correct' what the SMS-1 has done.)
