I checked the R-972 manual this morning. The R-972 supports MP3 and WMA files stored on a USB storage device (formatted as FAT16 or FAT32), but there's no mention in the 972 manual of other supported formats. Also, the RJ-45 jack on the rear panel is for the Trinnov mic.
