Hello all,

My system consists of Onix Rocket speakers (7.1) powered by an HK 7300. The family room is huge and acoustic treatments are not possible. Usage is 50/50 music/HT.

While the HK 7300 is quite a beast, I feel I need even more channel separation and center channel clarity. So, on to separates. I love the features on the HK 7300 (especially the bass management, xover, trim, etc customization per input per mode!) and would like to continue using this as a pre-pro for now (but willing to upgrade to a dedicated pre-pro if that is finally what it takes). So, I would like to start out by choosing an amp that has far more muscle than the 7300 and also balanced inputs for accommodating a possible future pre-pro upgrade.

The outlaw 7700 seems like a good candidate. However, I would be interested in hearing any comments and opinions comparing the SQ and HUM/BUZZ factor to the following:

1. The Emotiva MPS-1 in 7-channel (price reduced from today to $1699).

2. Parasound Halo A51 (only 5ch, would need to use 7300 for 7.1 rears) definitely more $$ but how does SQ compare?

3. Earthquake cinenova grande 7 (are the highs subdued?)

Thanks,
Raj
