Thanks, Gonk...so I'd basically HAVE to use the 80hz crossover setting if I went this route?

I do have a couple of 2.1 preamps in my sights in case I don't feel I can successfully integrate a subwoofer using an analog-only preamp, but the one I have my heart set on is in the latter category. Seems like everyone is steering me away from using speaker level inputs, so I thought maybe this Velodyne device could help. I'm not sure if I'd like the crossover setting that high for music, though....would be fine for movies, of course.
