As far as a diagnostic tool, yes, I think if I'd ordered something like the R-DES instead, I would be sending it back since it really wouldn't be doing much for me that I couldn't accomplish with my subs built in crossover.

I think I'll keep the SMS-1 though. I wish they'd add a mode to take the sweep up to 500hz or more so that I could get a better idea what my mains are doing and evaluate room treatments with it.
