The HDMI generation is providing us a way to leave SACD, DVD-A, and the other new high-res audio formats in the digital domain all the way to the processor, though, at which point the digital bass management (which has been only slightly expanded since the 950, which was one of the very first to offer triple crossovers) can be applied.
