Just curious, but why are you using tube components and then "ruining" things by doing the final amplification with a budget solid state amp? 8-)

I haven't tried the 200 specifically, but I do have the 755. It drives my Maggies just fine for both 2-channel and multi-channel programming.

If you're only after a 2-channel setup, and have the requisite budget, I've heard good things about the Lyngdorf SDA2175. It's made by the same folks that make TACT equipment. It's quite a bit more expensive at US$1490 for a 2-channel amp, but I'm told the sound is absolutely luscious. It will do 375wpc into the Maggie's 4 ohm load without breaking a sweat. I'm planning on getting one just to drive the Maggies for 2-channel stuff and keep the 755 for driving the surrounds and center for movies.

It's probably not politically correct to include a link to the amp here. Email me if you want it.

Cheers,
