Hmmm... If it thinks there's a trigger connected (which it will if there's a trigger cable connected), it won't come on without that signal. If you remove the trigger cable, you should be able to turn it on manually from the front panel. You may have tried this, but I'd start out by removing the trigger cable, turning the rear panel power off, turning the rear panel power back on, and then pressing the front panel power button.
